Seminole Ramlins
by Jack Wingate

We best keep on talkin' about the Bream and Shellcracker beds now and we mite later talk about how one man baits his hook to ketch the Talapia, but Bream first. It has been a steady flowof Bream, Crackers and Stumpknockers this week and there was a few Warmouth throwed in. Most of the week it was Crickets, Wigglers and Pond Worms. Some folks was able to fisha hundred Crickets and 2 boxes of Wigglers by noon, while others chose to wait til 3pm to git on the water with the same amount of bait until dusk dark. Most everyone did real good on the beds even with the wind at 90 to nuthin.

I had a strait hi-way Friday goin the same way I was goin. I was at 55 mph and I was jist a bit faster than the clouds so I slowed to 45 and we stayed together. That is a strong wind. Not fittin to fishin, but some did.

The man that has ben taken a lot of Talapia says he drills tiny holes in Dog Food pellets or Fish Pellets, then stick them on the hook. He says, near the beds it is a killer-diller.

The Lake City Bass Busters fished out of Wingate's on Friday, Saterday and Sunday til noon and the team of Chops and J.D. Coody won the event with a total of 39.65 lbs. and Big Fish at 7.26 lbs. by Coody. No one completely blanked out the whole 3 fishen periods, 20 folks fished.

The Valdosta Club fished Sunday. Ed Dean won their outing with 7 lbs. and he had Big Fish at 3.11 lbs.

The Rose City Bassmasters Open Tournament was held on Sunday and 3rd Place went to Benny and Tommy Hatten with 14.06 lbs., 2nd Place went to Allen Carter and son-in-law with 14.76 lbs. and 1st Place went to Steve Bushore and Joe Parker with 14.95 lbs. of real pretty Bass. They were put in a pontoon boat and moved back out into the lake.

2 Water Spouts were sited on the big part of the lake Saterday. The siters cranked up their boats and ran!
