ETHEL HARDY HORNE

Ethel Hardy Horne, age 91, of Donalsonville passed away Sunday morning, May 4, 2008, at Bainbridge Healthcare.

Funeral services for Mrs. Horne were held on Tuesday morning, May 6, at 11:00 a.m. at the Donalsonville Church of God with Rev. Stan Long and Rev. Joe Tatum officiating. Interment followed in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville.

Mrs. Horne was born in Barbour County, AL. on July 17, 1916, to the late Alter Jackson and Eura Davis Hardy. She was married to Oscar Wayne Horne who preceded her in death. Mrs. Horne worked as a nursing assistant for many years at the Donalsonville Hospital. She was a member of the Donalsonville Church of God.

Mrs. Horne leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Payton Horne and his wife Linda of Donalsonville; Rev. Gerald Horne and his wife Peggy of Cairo, and Carey Horne and his wife Diane of Donalsonville; a daughter, Irma Dean Henderson and her husband Cooper of Cairo; two sisters, Florence Graham of Dothan, AL, and Maurice Ingram of Dothan, AL; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and fivegreat-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Horne was preceded in death by her parents, Alter Jackson and Eura Davis Hardy; her husband, Oscar Wayne Horne; a son, Willie J. "Bill" Horne; two sisters, Berta Tyler and Louise Pippin; and a brother, Hasting F. Hardy.

Active pallbearers were Tracy Horne, Kyle Horne, Rev. Jeff Horne, Patrick Horne, Jeremy Horne, Robbie Dukes and Mike Henderson.

Evans-skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
