Seminole Ramlins
by Jack Wingate

A very noble and heroic thing will take place on March 28 at the American Legion Hall in Macon, GA. US 80 that runs from Tybee Island to San Diego, CA is being dedicated (The GA Section) as the Korean War Veterans Hi-Way. Three states have already dedicated their sections; we will be the fourth. Macon Legion Post is #3 in GA, Atlanta is #1, Fitzgerald is #2. This war has been called the "Forgotten War." There was 54,246 died, 103,284 wounded, and the MIA's numbered 8,177. To me that should not be a forgotten war!

As you may already know, Easter this year is March 23. Easter is always the first Sunday after the full moon after the Spring Equinox which is March 20. The next time Easter will be this early will be in 2228 or 220 years from now. The next time it will be on March 22, is 227 years from now. No one alive will see it.

Nic Jeter won the BASS State Juniors Championship on Sinclair, 1st 4 ½ lbs. Big Fish and 1st 10.9 lbs. stringer. He will go next to Sante Cooper; if he wins there, he will go to the finals in California.

The Hydrilla Gnats fished out of Wingate's on Sunday and won by Paul Tyre with 16 lbs. Mike Prindle came in second with 12 lbs. and Andy Koundourakis came in third with 7.6 lbs. of bass.

Nic Jeter of Faceville with histrophy andplaque from the BASS State Juniors Championship that he won this weekend up on Lake Sinclair.
The Talquin Hookers also fished on Sunday with Mrs. Brown winning with 13.73 lbs. and Big Fish of 4.72 lbs. Barbara Wachter came in second with 8.36 lbs., and Toni Scott came in third with 7.13 lbs. A great day but with lots of wind!

Crappie has been good for those that could stay on a "Hole." By hole I don't mean a deep hole, I mean a place where they like to hang out. Many good coolers were taken this week. One 90-yearold gentleman casting Jigs took home 35 nice perch. He was well pleased.

We will be having an Easter Sunrise service next Sunday at Wingate's. Ya'll come on out and bring your chairs. The frogs and the birds will likely be joining us if it's warm enuf!
