CLEO FREEMAN Mrs. Cleo McCorkle Freeman, age 77, of Dothan died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Mrs. Freeman was born April 12, 1930, in Miller County to the late Clarence McCorkle and Freddie Mae Johnson McCorkle. She become a licensed practical nurse from Moody Hospital in 1953. She was one of the first to graduate with a BSN from University of Alabama in 1956. She also became a second lieutenant in Governor George Wallace's Personal Militia. She received her master's degree in Foundation of Education in 1968. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, in the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Parker and Tommy Wright officiating. A private burial followed in Grier Cemetery in Hilton. Survivors include her husband, Curtis Freeman, Dothan, AL; one son, Harry Freeman, Dothan, AL; two grandchildren, Ashley Trawick and Meghan Freeman; one greatgrandchild, Christopher Noah Trawick; and four nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Sidney McCorkle and a nephew, Audrey McCorkle. Ward Wilson Funeral Home in Dothan, AL, was in charge of arrangements. |
