Adams, Thornton to speak wedding vows

Mr. Guy Adams and Mrs. Belinda Copeland of Valdosta are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Stacie Patricia Adams, to Jerry Todd Thornton, also of Valdosta. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Thornton of Colquitt.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Atkins of Valdosta and Mr. and Mrs. John Adams of Interlochen, FL.

She is a graduate of Lowndes High School and is currently attending Valdosta State University pursuing a bachelor's degree in communications. She is the manager of Endless Summer Tanning Salon.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Counce SheffieldJr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arnold "Red" Thornton.

He is a graduate of Southwest Georgia Academy and Valdosta State University. He is the senior account manager at Universal Forest Products Inc. in Valdosta.

The couple will be married on May 22, 2008, in Westmoreland, Jamaica.

A reception will be held May 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Gin Creek Plantation in Hartsfield.

All friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend the reception.
