The reigning Miss Georgia, Leah Masse, visited Colquitt last week. She was here to promote her platform and speak with children at Miller County schools, Southwest Georgia Academy and the New Life Learning Center.

The Colquitt/Miller County Chamber of Commerce and the National Mayhaw Festival Queens hosted a reception in Leah's honor on Monday, March 10, at 5:00 p.m. The reception was held at the Chamber officer. All area local queens were invited to come and meet Miss Georgia. All the queens had lots of questions for Miss Georgia and listened to her advice about being in pageants. Miss Georgia congratulated each of the girls for having the courage to be in pageants and for attaining their crowns.

After all the photographs were taken, the queens shared "tiara" cookies and punch. Miss Georgia was presented with a gift from our local queens. She received a Colquitt/Miller County afghan and a two "tiara" picture frame. Miss Georgia kept the card that was on the gift and said that it would "be put in her Miss Georgia scrapbook."

The National Mayhaw Festival Queens would like to thank the Miss Colquitt queens, the Miller County Relay for Life queens, The Grady County Forestry queens, and all others that came to show Leah how proud we are that she represents our state as Miss Georgia.
