It's not a circus, but there will be animals
by Terry Toole

The big top goes up for a special meeting at First Baptist
Last year everyone that went by Colquitt First Baptist Church wondered if there was going to be a tent revival or if a circus had come to town.

If you've been reading the Liberal ads, you already know that this meeting is where you can get fed the Word of God and some of the best food in this part of the world at the annual Wild Game Banquet.

When this event started, it was held in the large building next to the church. When the worship services were changed to that large facility, other arrangements were made. The giant white tent is now used for the dining area, and part of the auditorium is used to serve the hundreds of men at this now legendary banquet.

This meeting has become so popular, it is mandatory that you have a ticket to attend the banquet. I hope you knew one of the men members who had just the number of tickets for the seats under the big top yesterday.

This year's very special guest was Clebe McClary, a true American hero.

More next week.
