Gas prices differ It looks like OPEC is not the only gas group to do a good bit of gouging. On Monday, March 10, nationwide the price of regular gasoline varied from $2.60 per gallon in Johnsonville, S. C. to a high of $4.20 per gallon. Some area prices by cities from lowest to highest regular prices per gallon are as follows according to Mapquest:
OPEC said that the price of oil or the supply is not the only reason for increase. The economists agree that supply is not the only culprit causing the highest prices ever in the U.S.A. with the per gallon prices increasing weekly. They stated that the weak dollar in the world economy is more a cause for price jumps than the supply and demand. When investors have more confidencein gold, silver or oil than they do in the value of a dollar, the prices will continue to rise. Common sense teaches us that as we demand more and the suppliers cut back on production, the prices will continue to increase. When prices differ on the same gas as much as 61¢ in one town, someone is getting gutted. Guess who? |
