Accident

On December 23, 2007, Mr. Jason Houston of Colquitt was parked in a parking space at Subway, and Mr. Felipe Jesus Vega of Iron City was parked beside the fence in the parking lot at Petro. Mr. Houston was backing up and struck Mr. Vega's vehicle on the right rear panel, causing moderate damage to Mr. Vega's vehicle. No citation or injuries were reported.

On December 23, 2007 Mr. J.T. Morgan of Colquitt was parked in a parking space at Subway. Mr. Felipe Jesus Vega of Iron City was parked along the fence at Subway, not in a parking space. Mr. Morgan was backing out of the parking space and struck Mr. Vega's vehicle on the right quarter panel causing moderate damage. Neither driver was injured in the accident.

On December 28, 2007 Roger Dale Rudd of Leary was traveling north on Casey Carter Road in a Mack dump truck when he drove too close to the ditch, and the soft dirt gave way. The truck overturned on its passenger side.

On December 28, 2007,

Craig Allen Robinson of Bainbridge was traveling north on Bush Dairy Road and was negotiating a curve and ran off the edge of the road. He could not regain contact with the paved road and ran into the embankment at Bevers Road. The vehicle became airborne and jumped Bevers Road and entered the ditch on its right front end and rotated in a clockwise motion. The vehicle came to rest in the ditch facing south.

On December 23, 2007,

Timothy Jermaine Hale was traveling southbound on Three Notch Road when a deer ran into the roadway. Mr. Hale struck the deer in the roadway causing damage to the vehicle.

On December 31, 2007,

Joseph Hugh Martin of Colquitt was traveling eastward on Bellview Road when a deer crossed the roadway, striking the vehicle's front hood and causing minor damage to the vehicle.

On January 5, 2008, James D. Ryan of Tallahassee, Florida, was southbound on Hwy. 27S. in the right-hand lane when a deer crossed the median and ran into the roadway. Mr. Ryan struck the deer at the time causing damage to the driver's side corner of his front bumper and driver's side front fender area.

On January 6, 2008, Jennifer Jackson Pope was traveling south on Hwy. 91S. when a dog ran into the path of her vehicle. Ms. Pope struck the dog.

Carlton Orville Thomas was backing from under the carport while a 2006 Toyota Avalon that was owned by

Cory Thomas was parked just behind Mr. Thomas's vehicle in an offset manner. Mr. Thomas struck the Toyota Avalon with its right rear bumper and taillight area.

Disorderly Conduct

On December 29, 2007 OfficerHollis Smith and Captain Dan Stone responded to North 2nd Street in reference to a disorderly conduct case. Upon arrival, the officersspoke with Ms. Betty Grant who advised that her son, Cedrick, pushed her against the wall and threw a glass top at her. Cedrick walked back up to the home while the officerswere there. The officersasked Mr. Grant if he had done this, and he advised them that he did. Mr. Grant was advised that he was under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported to the Miller County Jail.

On December 31, 2007 OfficerHollis Smith responded to Railroad Street to an unknown call. Upon arrival, Officer Smith spoke with Ms. Tosha Collins and also Ms. Walker. Ms. Collins advised that her sister came into her room and told her that she needed to tell her guy friend he needed to leave and pointed her finger in her face. Ms. Collins advised that she slapped her hand away, and then Ms. Walker slapped her. Ms. Walker advised she did slap Ms. Collins and that Ms. Collins slapped her back. While all of this was taking place, there were small kids in the home, and three of the seven were in the room. Both were charged with disorderly conduct and the Department of Family and Children Services was advised.

Affray

On December 26, 2007, OfficerJason Wells responded to Dancer Street in reference to a juvenile Antrayvous Benton. Mrs. Lakesha Benton stated that her brother, Freddrick Hightower, called her at work and stated that she needed to get home because the kids were fighting. Mrs. Benton stated that she arrived home and spoke to her son, Antrayvous, and then called the police. OfficerWells spoke to Antrayvous, and he stated that he went over to Jill Moten's residence on Dancer Street when he was grabbed by his shirt and thrown up against the wall by suspect Cedrick Grant. Grant then allegedly forced him in the yard and threw him to the ground. Mr. Benton stated that when he was thrown to the ground his cell phone came out of his pocket, and Grant picked the phone up and threw it to the ground damaging the phone. The phone is a Verizon silver in color and cost forty dollars. Mr. Benton stated that he told Mr. Grant that he was going to tell his mother and Grant ran down the street. Mr. Grant was picked up at the corner of Second and Dancer Street and taken to jail where he was interviewed. Mr. Grant had a visible scratch to the back of his neck. Mr. Grant stated that Mr. Benton came in the residence and pushed him, causing the scratch on his neck. Mr. Grant then stated that he did grab Mr. Benton and held him against the wall and pushed him outside causing him to fall. Mr. Grant stated that he never even saw a cell phone. Mr. Grant was charged with affray after witnesses corroborated the victim's statement.

Damage to property

On December 23, 2007, OfficerLonnie Wade responded to Middle Street in reference to damage to property. Upon arriving, OfficerWade spoke with Freddrick Hightower, who stated that his vehicle had four flattires and a scratch on the driver's side door. Statements were taken along with pictures, and the case was turned over to the investigator for further investigation.

Driving with suspended

license

On December 27, 2007, Officer Brad Cox was patrolling on Bellview Road when OfficerCox observed a vehicle traveling down the road. As Officer Cox got closer to the vehicle, he noticed the registration decal was possibly expired on the vehicle. OfficerCox ran the license plate which indicated the vehicle's registration was in fact expired and also that there was no valid insurance on the vehicle. OfficerCox then proceeded to pull the vehicle over and made contact with the driver, Grady Ward Eubanks of Colquitt. Eubanks stated that he did not have his driver's license on him at the time. OfficerCox then ran a license check on Eubanks by name and date of birth, and it indicated that his license was suspended for failure to appear. Eubanks was placed under arrest and transported to the Miller County Jail where he was charged with driving while license suspended, no insurance, and driving with expired registration.
