Donations made to the Spring Creek Watershed Partnership

Dr. Cleve Bridges and wife, Pam make donation
The Spring Creek Watershed Partnership promotes water quality protection and improvement through education and the installation of Best Management Practices (BMPs). The program is supported through both federal grant funds and non-federal matching funds. The federal funds come from a 319(h) grant through the EPA and are administered by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD). Federal funding makes up 60% of the program's monies. The other 40% of the funds that support the Spring Creek Watershed Partnership come from nonfederal matching funds. These funds are provided by the six counties that are within the watershed, which are Calhoun, Clay, Decatur, Early, Miller and Seminole, and by individuals and private landowners. Matching funds can be in the form of volunteer's donating their time to help with creek clean-up events or participating in Spring Creek Watershed Partnership meetings. Matching funds also come from monetary contributions by private citizens and businesses. Dr. Cleve Bridges, of the Riverside Veterinary Clinic, Inc. in Seminole County, and his wife Mrs. Pam Bridges have recently both made generous contributions to the Spring Creek Watershed Partnership. Dr. Bridges and Mrs. Pam are landowners and are very conservation minded when it comes to protection our water quality. Dr. Bridges said that he and. Pam wanted to make the donations to the Partnership because they understand how important it is to have organizations like the Spring Creek Watershed Partnership working to improve water quality and protect our natural resources.
