Uva celebrates 95 years
Uva Mason enjoys life, family, friends and especially birthdays. Mrs. Uva Sanders Mason celebrated her 95th birthday on Sunday, December 28.
However, her celebration started on Saturday, December 27th.
Ms. Uva was honored with a bingo birthday party at the home of her daughter, Betty Jo Toole, where Uva now lives. The gala event was hosted by Betty Jo, along with Ms. Mason's other daughter, Mealie, her granddaughters, Tammy Richardson, Donna Toole, Melanie Smith and great-grandchildren, Joanna Richardson and Mason Toole. Also attending the affair was Ms. Mason's newest greatgreat grandson, Greyson William Smith. That bunch enjoyed Christmas Bingo, winning many prizes and most of all each other. A large number of the members of the Senior Center bingo players, along with several relatives, enjoyed an afternoon of fun. Happy birthday was sung before enjoying delicious birthday cake and ice cream.
A pizza party and games were enjoyed later in the evening with her children and grandchildren at the Toole home.
On Sunday, her birthday, she was surprised again when twenty-four family members meeting her at her church, Bellview Free Will Baptist Church. Among those attending were her children, Terry and Betty Jo Toole,Colquitt, David and Mealie Webb, Morrow; grandchildren, Kent, Tammy, Richardson, Colquitt, Donna Toole, Canton; greatgrandchildren, Garrett Richardson, Albany, Joanna Richardson, Colquitt; Mason Toole, Canton; nieces, Troy and Sarah Long, Bainbridge, Hinton and Allene Harris, Macon, Ken and Patsy Waddell, Valdosta, Mike and Jo- Ruth Porter, Riegelwood, NC; great-niece, Jeff and Carolyn Thompson, Bainbridge; great-great niece, Chris and Stephanie Coker, Bainbridge; great-great nephew, Dylan Olds, Colquitt. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch at the home of Terry and Betty Jo Toole.
After all the festivities were over, Uva said with a smile, "I'm looking forward to my next year's birthday already."
