Up The Creek Without A Paddle
As I write this column Saturday morning, prior to THE election on Tuesday, I have the feeling that it may be settled.
The biggest question that I am asked, "Do you think Obama will beat McCain?"
Back 40 or 50 years ago, there was this same feeling that it's a lost cause to try to have an honest election. There was vote buying, and ballot box swapping every election, even when there was no opposition. Those in power said they didn't want to forget how to "win."
In my 72- plus years, this election will go down in the history of this nation as the most expensive and possibly the crookest election, ever, and that is saying a lot for what I know.
By election day $2.4-billion, that's billion, will have been spent on this year's presidential election campaigns, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. And another $2.9-billion will have been spent on 435 House and 35 Senate races. Can you imagine what the winners will owe in debts and payback when asked to make laws like the folks who furnished the money ask them? This don't even include what the candidates have promised to us voters.
I said I wouldn't write about the corruption and crookedness that this election has been accused of until after it is over. The majority of you will get this on Wednesday after the Tuesday election, so-
The ACORN bunch should all have been locked up, especially since election fraud has been declared a felony.
What am I saying about what should be done by our law and our courts after what has happened to us in the past few months? Beside that, an election stealing is nothing.
Maybe if I hadn't gone through a time of election fraud and know about people being killed for messing with elections, I couldn't say too much about this one. Maybe if I hadn't been in charge of elections for eight years, I couldn't see how allowing citizens to vote for 40 to 52 days before election day is about as crooked as you can get. This is done by state laws.
I've learned that just because it is law, don't make it right or just.
I've seen a few hundred absentee votes change an election. Think about how anyone voting without cause or reason for 40 to 50 days before the election can expect to get an honest count? As many as 35 percent of the voters in the states that allow early voting, have voted.
As an old, has been, election official, it would be a nightmare to be responsible for that many votes for over a month before election day. If "they" will spend $5.3 billion to win an election, wonder how much it would take to buy votes?
According to some polls, the Democrats have won all the way. Could be, this happened back in 1977 when a Democratic Congress and a Democratic president named Jimmy was elected. Seems to me I remember times weren't too good when Iran was messing with us and interest rates went to over 20 percent.
Some pollsters say it is close. Some say Obama already has enough electoral votes to be the first black, white, Arab to sit in the White House. Maybe his veep, Joe Biden, the third most liberal senator will keep the first most liberal freshman senator straight, if they win.
Now John McCain and Sarah Palin say they are going to the White House, which I hope they are right.
I really question the sanity of anyone who would want to attempt to lead a countythat's in war, bankrupt due to a corrupt federal government and greedy bankers and in the worst financial shape since the Great Depression.
I guess I'm just getting too old for all this mess. It is my prediction that if we get the leadership that is predicted by most to the national media, us old folks won't have to worry too long. If the Democrats can kill babies by the millions, and do away with the Holy Bible, why not get rid of all those old folks drawing their social security monies that could be used for a better cause. Then the promised health care wouldn't be needed. That wealth could be redistributed to those who didn't work for it. It's been done before. It is called Socialism and Communism. Both are still alive and well. They are lending the U.S. money to operate on and be like them.
So my prediction is a little radical you think. Considering that since 1973 when we allowed a nine member court to rule that taking life in the womb was legal, over 48, 589,000 babies have been murdered in this nation. More children are killed each year in this nation by "legal abortion" than the total number of combat deaths in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Korean, Vietnam and Gulf Wars combined.
Maybe the Lord will forgive us. Maybe not! He gave us free choice.
Whatever happens, God Bless You and God Bless America. You might not hear that anymore!
