Mrs. Blonnie Bell Pickren, age 97, of Colquitt died Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Miller County Hospital.

Mrs. Pickren was born November 25, 1910, in Early County. She was a homemaker and was the oldest member of New Salem Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Talmadge Worsley and Bro. Jimmie Harris officiating. Interment followed in Primitive Union Cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Johnnie Ruth (Lester) Nalls, Tifton, Shirley Joy Gordon, Cummings, Polly (Joe) Warren, Kissimmee, FL; one son, T. Max (Betty) Pickren, Sylvester; one sister, Frances Cotner, Tallahassee, FL; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Drew T. Pickren; parents, J.W. and Hettie Nix; a daughter, Ellen Diane Pickren; brother, Henry Nix; three sisters, Miriam Gilbert, Boysie Houston, and Esther Davis.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
