Dr. Joseph Grimsley At the August 20, 2008 meeting of PeoplesSouth Bancshares, Inc. Board of Directors, Dr. Joseph W. Grimsley and Mr. Hugh Wheelless were appointed to serve on the board of directors of PeoplesSouth Bank.

Dr. Joseph W. Grimsley is a native of Colquitt. He graduated from Miller County High School in 1964. He attended Emory at Oxford and the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy, Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, graduating in 1984 and began his dental practice in Colquitt. He and his wife, Tina, reside in Miller County where they are members of the Colquitt United Methodist Church. Joe is currently the president of the Lions Club.

Mr. Hugh Wheelless was born and raised in Dothan, Alabama, where he attended the public school system and is a graduate of Auburn University. Some of his community involvement includes past president of the Dothan Houston County Rotary Club, and he is currently a board member of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Wallace College Foundation and chairman of the Christ Church Cathedral Foundation. He is general partner of Wheelless Development Ltd., a real estate development firm in southeast Alabama. He resides in Dothan and has two grown children.
