Here are two of the new non stop harvest John Deere 7760 Cotton Pickers. They're now in our area on the 3R Thompson's Farm and Killearney Farms.

Brian Harrell of SunSouth in Donalsonville said, "This is an amazing machine in that it does the work of a lot of equipment. It picks the cotton and then bales it in a large round bale, then it moves that bale to the very rear to wait for a good drop off point (edge of the field) so it then starts on the next round bale inside the machine."

What we currently do is have a picker and a boll buggy pulled by a tractor of course, that takes the cotton from the picker to the module builder. The picker stops to dump into the boll buggy. Then the boll buggy dumps the cotton into a module builder for packing. The module builder has a tractor attached to it to run the packing and move it. Usually you have two module builders in a field to be able to keep up with the six row picker. Also someone has to run the module builders, tarp the modules, move the module builder. So you can see, this is a real equipment and labor saver.
