Fun run and 5K cancer run Saturday
      Kathy Middleton, owner of Focus @ the Avenue in Colquitt, is one of many volunteers that is helping us with the Joyce's Jog. Kathy is bringing some of her indoor cyclists to participate in the run also. Joyce's Jog is a one mile fun run/walk and a 5K run that raises money for breast cancer research.

Little Miss Colquitt places in top 10 in peanut pageant
      The reigning Little Miss Colquitt, Harley Shiver, daughter of John and Lesley Shiver, finished as a Top 10 Finalist in the Little Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant. Harley represented Colquitt in the Little Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant which was held in Dothan, Alabama, at the Dothan Civic Center on Saturday, October 11, 2008.

State Patrol report
      State troopers from the Colquitt Post #14 of the Georgia State Patrol investigated three traffic crashes during the month of September in Miller County. Sergeant First Class Edwards said the traffic crashes resulted in three injuries and two traffic deaths.
