Little Jim Westbrook, age 83, of Colquitt died Friday, October 3, 2008, at Miller County Hospital.

Mr. Westbrook was born June 24, 1925, in Early County. He was a farmer and a member of Mt. Olive Holiness Church. He was a Sunday School teacher, superintendent and a deacon for 45 years, and was an Army veteran of WWII.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Holiness Church with Rev. Daniel Dean and Rev. Tim Mock officiating. Interment followed in Gordon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kelly Case, Brian Case, Cole Tyler, Larry Whitaker, Greg Widner, G.J. Widner, and Jerry Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lollie A. Westbrook, Colquitt; three daughters, June (Gary) Rentz, Brinson, Janice (Roger) Gay, Paden, OK, Jan Rebecca Westbrook, Colquitt; one sister, Peggy Widner, Colquitt; two grandsons, Todd Rentz, Jacob Westbrook; one granddaughter, Charity (Kelly) Case; three great-grandchildren, Brian Case, Nolan Case, and Emily Case.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Franklin and Mittie Gordon Westbrook, one daughter, Patricia Westbrook; one brother, Wesley Westbrook; four sisters, Bessie Buckner, Essie Whitaker, Ester Oliver, Mabel Gray; and one grandson, Brian Gay.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
