A small party was held Saturday afternoon in honor of little Madison Reynolds. The affair was held at her Aunt Gwen Morgan's home on Reed Street. She celebrated her big day on September 1, but her mother wanted to be here for the party, so they celebrated on Saturday. Many wished Madison a good day.
The Beulah AME Church Sunday School class met at the home of Mrs. Annie P. Johnson last Sunday. She has been unable to get out to go to church in over a year. So the class went to her. The teacher took time out to bless someone that could not get out.
Mrs. Margaret Grant and Mrs. Katie Smith went to see Rev. and Mrs. Moore after Sunday School Sunday. We were glad to see that both of them were able to be up and get to the table by themselves. And the blessed thing being, there was food on the table.
The Moore family celebrated their family reunion last weekend.
Mrs. Ida Bradley has been on the low side of the totem pole. But she got out Sunday for church. She attended the union meeting at New Hope #1 on Highway 91. We hope she continues to improve.
Those celebrating birthdays this month are Lisa Fountain, September 4; Charles Gilbert and French Murphy, September 3; and Joshua Hawkins and Joan Crankfield, September 6. Hope all of you have a good day.
Ms. April Reynolds left Sunday after a week here with family and friends. She had to get back to Norfolk, VA, to her job. We thoroughly enjoyed having her visit with us.
Gustav is kicking up down south. We probably will have some rain this week. The farmers are not so happy to see rain at this time. They're trying to gather what they have grown.
