Up The Creek Without A Paddle
Democrats put on quite a show at their convention last week. I watched as much as I could of it. There were very few surprises. Real politicians all kiss and make up at their conventions. You could hardly see the scars as those who had gutted each other just a short few weeks ago were bosom buddies of the winner.
I've got to give it to Barack Hussein Obama, the boy can talk. He almost had some convinced with his tax cuts for 95 percent of us until he started telling what he was going to give to everyone who didn't work for a living.
He wasn't as good as Billy "Boy" Clinton. Bill had them eating out of his hands. I believe he could have told them to vote for Hillary, and they would have traded Obama for "Omama." Bill had a good time in the White House, but he is getting on in age, and it just wouldn't be the same. I've got to give it to him; he has a more understanding wife than most of us have.
Let me make myself perfectly clear; the Democrats or the Republicans didn't really impress me with their choices. The perfect ticket would have been Colin Powell and Newt Gringrich. They both love this nation, or what is left of it. One knows how to win a war, which keeps down aggression. The other is about as smart as we have in this country. Neither one of them offered for the job as president, so my first picks are non-existent.
Have you ever wondered what Obama promised Hillary if she would try to get her 18 million votes to swing over to him? Some have said he would name her to the not-so Supreme Court. I wonder even more what Obama promised past-President Bill Clinton. Could it have been a life-time supply of Cuban cigars?
I can't wait to hear what the Republican National Convention is going to do for us citizens.
Even though I help get out the Miller County Liberal each week, I have been accused of having the most inappropriately named newspaper in the state, possibly the nation. There is not a liberal bone in this 72-yearold body. The last time I voted for a liberal candidate for president was when my friend and neighbor, Jimmy Carter ran. I have asked forgiveness for that on numerous occasions.
John McCain is a lot more liberal in some areas than this nation needs, but in comparison to what the Democrats are offering to lead this nation, McCain looks like a knight in shining armor. He isn't for killing babies. He has served his nation honorably in the armed services and the U.S. Senate. He supports drilling for our own oil. He is not for giving and doing everything for everybody. He believes in winning wars that we get into. He supports men marrying women and women marrying men. On taxes to giving away our tax dollars to illegals, I agree with Senator McCain. On every issue that Obama and his pick, Joe Biden, have brought to the people of this nation, I don't agree with any. They are the #1 and #3 most liberal senators in this nation. In 173 days served in the U.S. Senate, Sen. Barack Hussein Obama has gained the reputation of voting the most liberal of the 100 senators of this nation. He voted against English as the official language. He is for abortion, against gun ownership, for socialized medicine, supports homosexual marriage, for restoring all the tax cuts of the past eight years, for tucking tail and running in Iraq,
Other than the "legal" abortion of the millions of babies killed in and out of the womb in this nation since Roe vs. Wade was enacted by the liberal Supreme Court, the next president of this nation will name possibly three of the nine justices. I'm not too sure that this nation will survive four or eight more years of liberal legislation coming out of this not-too Supreme Court. Think about it, Hitler, Stalin and Hussein all had "legal" killings.
The choice on November 4, is possibly the most important vote that this nation will make in my lifetime.
If we are attacked by Muslims again as we were on September 11, 2001, and they promise it, we must chose right for a president, or we will be a defeated nation.
It seems like I don't have to watch the Republican National Convention to make a choice, but I will. I want to see more of that lady from Alaska. She looks better than the others.
