Robert G. Wells Air Force Airman Robert G. Wells has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Gregory Wells of 82nd St. E., Bonney Lake, Wash.
Wells is a 2007 graduate of Bonney Lake High School.
Army Reserve Sgt. Brandon A. Smith participated in the 2008 Best Warrior Competition, a seven-event contest designed to test soldiers' physical, as well as combat skills. The competition, hosted by the 88th Regional Readiness Command at Fort McCoy, Wis., consisted of a physical fitness test, a land navigation course, weapons qualification with the M-4 rifle, and a series of Army Warrior Tasks, including CPR evaluation, casualty evacuation, and weapons assembly and operations. Smith, a drill sergeant, is a member of the 3rd Battalion, 485th Regiment based in Columbus. He has served two deployments in Iraq and has served in the military for six years.
Sgt. Brandon A. Smith The Macon resident, is the son of Mike Smith of Blackjack Road, Bainbridge.
The reservist is a 2002 graduate of Bainbridge High School, and a student at Georgia College and State University, Milledgeville.
