Pine Seedling Pageant held
Courtney and Harley with Smokey the Bear The Decatur County Pine Seedling Pageant was held on Saturday, August 9, 2008, in Whigham. Courtney Brownlee of Colquitt was crowned Miss Decatur County Pine Seedling, and Harley Shiver of Colquitt was crowned Little Miss Decatur County Pine Seedling.
Courtney is the 17-year-old daughter of Mark and Deborah Pearce and Ron Brownlee. Harley is the seven-year-old daughter of John and Lesley Shiver.
Courtney is the reigning Miss Miller-Seminole Forestry Queen and placed as top 10 finalists at the Georgia Forestry Pageant in June with 44 other contestants in her division. Harley is the reigning Little Miss Grady County Forestry Queen.
These two young ladies share several other titles together such as Miss and Little Miss Spirit of Christmas, Miss and Little Miss Miller Co. Relay for Life, and Miss and Little Miss Colquitt. They will also be representing Colquitt this year in the National Peanut Festival Pageant, which will be held in October.
