Mrs. Sarah Joyce Ard, age 73, of Colquitt died Friday, August 22, 2008, at Palmyra Nursing Home in Albany.

Mrs. Ard was born February 2, 1935, in Miller County. She was a homemaker.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 26, at 11:00 a.m. at New Home Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Whittaker and Rev. Benjamin Miller officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Lynn (Todd) Thompson, Springfield, TN; two sons, Jeff (Karen) Ard, Corpus Christi, TX, and David Ard, Colquitt; two sisters, Grace Smith, Colquitt, and Hilda Everett, Arlington; three sisters-in-law, Janie Sheffield, Colquitt, Ann Williams, Marietta, and Laverne (Terrell) Mock, Albany; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
