Hugh M. Fletcher, 87, of Bainbridge passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008, at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Danny Shepard, Pastor Robert Baggs, and Rev. Stephen L. Webb officiating. Interment followed at Oak City Cemetery.

Mr. Fletcher was born May 16, 1921, in Climax, the son of John Hugh Fletcher and Lilla Jordan Fletcher. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his sons, Craig M. Fletcher and his wife Faye, and Alvin J. Fletcher, all of Bainbridge; his daughter, Leah F. Smith of Bainbridge; two grandchildren, Will Fletcher Smith and Stephanie K. Mock; and three greatgrandchildren, Ashton Mock, Taylor Mock, and Bo Mock.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
