You can see most anything in Colquitt

These 50 plus geese were seen in a peanut field inside the city limits of Colquitt. A neighbor coming from Baker County dropped into the Liberal office last week to say he had been coming to Colquitt for many years, but had never seen anything like this.
"I've seen a few wild geese light down in a field or pond, but I've never seen a flock light down in a peanut patch just a few feet from the road," he said.
I told him that a large flock of geese seem to stay around town all year long. They used to stay in Smiley Grow's pond, but the pond is dry. They must think that a green peanut patch is the next best thing to a pond. They seemed to be eating something. I hope it was worms instead of peanuts.
