The Jack Wingate Thursday Night Big Fish Tournament held out of Wingate's Lunker Lodge and hosted by the Hydrilla Gnats Bass Club was nigh rained out however 23 boats showed up. Sean Neel and Eddie Ditto won 1st with 6.13 lbs., 2nd place went to Frank and Frank Jordan with 6.06 lbs. and 3rd went to Kim Brown and Sonny Thursby with 5.18 lbs. There has been some Bass taken but my Lord at the Bream, Shellcrackers and Catfish.

One boat reported 2 limits of Crappie on Minnows, another 28 Crappie, 57 Crappie on Jigs, 27 Crappie on Jigs, in another boat, 30 Crappie taken near 10 Mile Still. 29 Crappie taken on Minnows at Faceville Landing.

Allen Rabon of Cairo had 50 Blue Gill on Crickets, Lawrence Culverson and son with friend had 150 Blue Gill near Butler Mill Creek, Nic Jeter had 50 Bream on Crickets.

Now the State of Florida has a new state recode Blue Catfish taken in the Chattahoochee River by Mr. James Mitchell, a disabled veteran and retired. This Blue Cat tipped the scales at 64.08 lbs. beating the old record by 3 lbs.

A sad short look at the Duck Season coming up. American Wegeon - 5%, Northern Pintail - 36%, Canvasbacks - 14% and Scaup - 27%. We may not have a Canvasback season. But the dumbest bird that flies is up 47%. How he even survives is a mystery to me.

I have come to the conclusion that "China Cheats". There should be an accounting by the rules committee.

One of Country Music's great music makers has past away this past week, "Don Nelms", the steel guitar player with Hank Williams, Sr. Drifters Band. He was 81 years old and a true legend. He'll be missed.
