Kaitlyn Grimes captures first career 1st place

That's when her grandfather, Joe McGowan of Colquitt put her on a horse. "It's my grandfather's fault that I love horses so well. He's the one who started me riding at such an early age, but I do love it," stated Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn recented competed and captured her first career first place ribbon at the Leon County Horsemen's Association 2008 Show Circuit.

She won her first place ribbon in open equitation 2'3'' fences and also won first place in novice pole bending. Along with these first place ribbons, Kaitlyn also received a second place in novice cloverleaf barrels; second place in open hunter hack 18" crossrails; and a fourth place in Novice English Equitation Walk/ Trot.

She is the ten-year old daughter of Clint and Kitten Grimes of Crawfordville, FL. She is a fifth grader at Riversink Elementary School and is a member of the Wakulla County 4-H Horsemaster's Club. She is the granddaughter of Joe and Annie Pearl McGowan of Colquitt.
