There is life after heart surgery
by Robert John Roberts

There is life after heart surgery! Your life will never be the same as it was before, but you can adjust to a "new normal" with time. This book is an account of trials and tribulations during my surgery and recovery. It was written to help anyone who is struggling in life, especially heart patients. I do not have a Ph.D., nor am I a medical doctor. However, I did live through a near fatal heart condition and during the months afterw ards gained much insight along the road to recovery.

How does an individual survive emergency pen-heart surgery to repair an aortic dissection and accompanying urges of suicide? How does the same individual survive a direct hit from a category F4 tornado? And then how does this person use these miracles to explain his faith?

I n Memoirs f rom my Mended Heart, author John Roberts of Colquitt answers these crucial questions.

In late January of 2005, Roberts experienced pain and tightness in his chest while attending a Sunday evening church service. He would deny the seriousness of the continuing pain until five days later when an emergency room doctor diagnosed his condition as a bleeding along the inner wall of his aorta, the major artery of his heart. This is the same heart condition that killed actor John Ritter.

After recovery from extensive surgery in Tallahassee, FL, Roberts survived forty-seven days later a touch down on his street of a tornado. And during the next months he often considered suicide, an emotional response common among survivors of heart surgery.

As therapy during recuperation, Roberts creates this memoir to explain his religious convictions and to urge others to find comfort and salvation in numerous biblical passages

that he explains.
