Mission team members in Costa Rica at one of the construction sites that they are working on. This crew does it all. Forty-five people from all over Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida formed a mission team led by Rev. David Thompson of Colquitt United Methodist Church. The team was based in Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui in the rainforest in the north central part of Costa Rica. They worked on two different church facilities doing construction to help build a new sanctuary for the Agape Methodist Church in the village of La Guardia and Sunday school rooms at the Monte Verde Methodist Church.

In addition to doing construction during the week, the team also held Vacation Bible School at three different sites for 80 to 100 children per day at each site. The team started and ended each day with praise and worship, devotions, and prayer. In addition, they attended church at two of the local Methodist churches and got to worship Costa Rican style complete with dancing, vibrant singing, and Latin-style praise bands.

The entire team would like to thank all who prayed, donated, served, and encouraged them. They were able to raise over $62,000 for the mission of the Church. Many Costa Rican lives were changed as a result of the team's ministry. All of the team members lives were blessed and changed as result of the powerful ministry time in Costa Rica.

A slide show of some of the mission trip was given at the evening worship service at Colquitt United Methodist Church, Sunday, July 27, as mission team members told how the trip changed their lives, those they went to help and continued an ongoing building program in Costa Rica.

The majority of the mission team stated that they would be looking forward and ready to return next year and finish the jobs in Costa Rica. There will be two more teams to follow this one to work on the projects before teams stop for the year.
