Mr. Billy Williams, age 78, of Colquitt died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Miller Nursing Home.

Mr. Williams was born November 23, 1929, in Miller County. He was a sales clerk with Seminole Building Supply and was a member of Colquitt First Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kent Barwick officiating. Interment followed at Colquitt City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wes Williams, Caine Williams, Russ Williams, Steve Williams, Phil Long, and Steve Long.

Honorary pallbearers were Gary Phillips, Ken Phillips, Johnny Vann, Wendell Hines, Troy Williams, and Chad Newberry.

Survivors include four sons, Mark Williams, George (Melanie) Williams, David Williams, Colquitt, Mike (Donna) Williams, Arlington; one brother, Buddy Williams, Albany; one sister, Juanita Hines, Albany; eight grandchildren, Caine Williams, Kelly Newberry, Meredith Crowell, Summer Elmore, Wes Williams, Russ Williams, Ashley Kimbrell, Angel Brown; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mary Weaver, Colquitt.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Griffin Williams, his parents, Grady and Ruth West Williams, three brothers, Don Williams, Larry Williams, and Ken Williams.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
