Summer storms and blessed rains cause minimal damage
A summer storm caused roads to cover in water, ditches to fill, and trees to be blown down in several areas of the county Saturday, July 12.
One wreck was caused by the quick rainstorm, and there were many reports of trees in or near the roadways.
The county road department was called out several times to remove limbs and trees from the roadways.
Deputies were out all over the county checking for damage. According to 911 operators, there was no major damage reported in the heavy downpours and gusty winds.
All was not bad as the winds and rains came down in a good portion of the county. There were reports of up to three inches of rain in some areas and as little as .25 inch in other areas.
Almost no one fussed as the rains came. This is the time the farmers can use the rain to finish off the corn and help water the other crops. That rain was worth millions to area farmers.
