of '53 holds Class of 1953 members enjoy the 55th. of '53 holds Class of 1953 members enjoy the 55th. The Miller County High School Class of 1953 held its 55th class reunion at the American Legion Post in Colquitt on June 28.

Saturday morning members and their spouses or guests attended a coffee at 10 a.m. At 5:00 everyone gathered for a class picture and a delicious buffet dinner, which was enjoyed by all.

Mary Herman was in charge of the program. The welcome was given by Jack Boyd and the invocation by Seth Mock. The speaker was Kate Mc- Daniel (Valeta Harp). She delighted everyone speaking on the changes in our lifetime.

The names of the deceased members were read, and a candle was lit in their memory.

Peggy Widner called the roll with 28 members present. Those attending were Jack Boyd, Jeanette Bryan and Al Miller, Ned Bryan, Ted Bryan, Evon Carter Phillips, Don Cook and Janice, Sue Cross Savage and Jerry, Sammie Davis Turner, Valeta Harp McDaniel and Mac, Mary Belle Joiner Herman and Floyd, Charles Jordan and Jeanette, Mealie Earl Mason Webb and David, Willie McKinney, Seth Mock and Bobbie, Lowell Mulkey and Glenda, Louvenia Nix Brown, Betty Jane Phillips Rentz and Sonny, Gene Phillips and Emory, Maston Phillips and Pat, Juan Richardson, Don Roberts and Gertrude, Peggy Westbrook Widner, Buren Whitaker and Margie, Hilda Widner Weeks and Wayne, Walter Daniels and Margaret Ann, Betty Josey Tucker and Ed, Amos George and Eloise Houston George.

The teachers attending were Mr. Harry Davis and Bonnie and Mrs. Lillian Lane Gibson. They made lots of nice comments on our class.

Charles Jordan gave the closing remarks and thanked the reunion committee, Jack Boyd, Seth Mock, Peggy Widner, and Mary Herman who put together a new class booklet. Rev. Walter Daniels closed the meeting with prayer.
