SUMMER LUNCHES FOR ALL CHILDREN
      USDA's Summer Food Service Program provides free lunches to kids at park and recreation areas, summer Bible schools, and other sites in the community during the summer. Any child, 18 and under, is eligible for FREE lunches. Lunches MUST be eaten at the site.

BC, GSW sign agreement for CIS bachelor's degree program at BC
Agreement to Smooth Student Transfers
      BAINBRIDGE, GA - Bainbridge College (BC) and Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) expanded their cooperative relationship May 22 on the BC campus. Beginning Fall 2008, GSW will offer the bachelor of science (BS) in computer information systems (CIS) at BC, which offers the two-year associate of applied science degree in CIS.

      During the recent school year, one of the fourth grade teachers at Miller County Elementary School looked out the window while shopping on the square and saw a tourist taking pictures of the murals.

      Darton College announced the following students have made the Dean's/Merit List for spring 2008 semester. Courtney D. Chapman made the Dean's List. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must be full-time and have earned a 3.4 or higher grade point average.

      You don't have to own a cat to appreciate this one. You don't even have to like 'em! We were dressed and ready to go out for the New Years Eve Party. We turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on, covered our pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard. We phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi.

      Jimmy Hancock was cutting the pecan orchard in front of his home when he thought he had run over a large limb. It came up and hit the side of the lawn mower. He made another run around the tree, and the "limb" moved again, but this time he hadn't hit it or run over it.

      We at Wingate's Lunker Lodge want to congratulate our local Hydrilla Gnats Bass Club for a good win on Lake Wheeler in north Alabama. They will advance to the next level, which is the BASS Federation Nation's 6 - man Team World Championship. We also congratulate Sgt. Rich Moulder, just back from Iraq for his 2 - 8 pounders on Crank Baits.
