Annual Miller County Fishing Rodeo a blast!
I think I'm getting a bite. The annual Miller County Fishing Rodeo was held Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Haywood Pond. There were approximately 78 people attending, with 40 children enjoying the day. God granted us a beautiful day, filled with plenty of sunshine, a light breeze, children's laughter, and fish, fishand more fish.
The avid fisher boys and girls caught plenty of fish with a total count of 433, which consisted of catfish, bream and bass. The biggest fishof the day was caught by Jakell Roseborough in the 13 to 16 age group.
This year we had four age groups which were as follows:
up to age 5, Paxtyn Curles, Teghyan Curles, Justyn Felch, Kaitlyann Felch, Matthew Meredith, Sierra Miller, Kyler Norman, Jakalin Roseborough, and Storm Tabb; ages 6-8, Breanna Barber, Tonysha Barber, Austin Chapman, Brycen Curles, Shaun Felch, Dontae Johnson, Allison Mc- Millan, Caleb Miller, Kajaunjay Newton, Kaylee Norman, Austin Phillips, Holden Sheffield,and Kohler Tabb; ages 9-12, Cody Cleveland, Hayes Cleveland, Tommy Cloud, Eli Cook, Todd Cook, Jacquira Hopson, and Jamaree Hopson; and ages 13-16, Daniel Allen, Trevontii Barber, Jadarion Douglas, Tanelia Douglas, Marcus Hawkins, Adrian Hayes, Kizmet Perry, Adam Phillips, Jakagra Roseborough, Jakell Roseborough, and Kimberly Toliver.
You all need to learn to bait your own hooks. The overall age group winners for catching the most fishfrom their respective age groups were
Jakalin Roseborough, first place, Teghyan Curles, sec- ond place, and Matthew Meredith, third place;
Austin Phillips, first place, Breanna Barber, second place, and Kajaunjay Newton, third place;

We would like to thank all the parents for bringing their children out to enjoy this event which we hope will continue for many years! Thanks to Terry Toole and the staff of the Miller County Liberal, and to all of the people that volunteered their services to help ensure that things ran smoothly and a special thanks to Randy Haywood; you're the best!
I've got my catch, and I'm heading home. Hope to see y'all next year and Happy Fishing!
Will someone please help me put this "ooky" thing on my line? |
