Ms. Emma Lou Keaton Franklin and Mr. Herbert Lehman Franklin Jr. of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Tiffany Franklin of New York City, New York, to Charles David Cooke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred William Cooke, all of Staten Island, New York.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Peyton Howard Keaton Jr. and the late Mr. Keaton of Colquitt and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Lehman Franklin Sr. of Statesboro. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Ms. Chloe Ollie Jones Cheshire and the late Dr. James Leslie Cheshire and the late Dr. and Mrs. Peyton Howard Keaton Sr., all of Damascus, the late Mr. and Mrs. George Oscar Franklin of Pulaski and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas McArthur of Ailey.

She is a graduate of Brenau College for Women in Gainesville where she obtained a bachelor of arts degree. She is a co-founder of The Alchemy Group Worldwide, LLC, a branded entertainment and marketing company, based in New York City, New York and Los Angeles, California.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mrs. Clorinda M. McAteer and Mr. Charles F. McAteer and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred P. Cooke, all of Staten Island, New York. He is the great-grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Herbert Mardus, the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. McAteer Sr., the late Mr. and Mrs. William Lazarski, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lionel Cooke, all of Staten Island, New York.

He is a graduate of Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey where he obtained his bachelor of Business Administration degree. He is a partner in Noble House, International, LLC, a New York City based, creative entrepreneur and project finance company.

The wedding will be at the Savannah Yacht Club in Savannah on Saturday, June 7, 2008, with the reception following the ceremony.
