Melissa Link and Charles Clark Melissa Link and Charles Clark Arlene Kinney Clark announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her son, Charles Everett Clark Jr., to Melissa Jane Link of Athens. Melissa is the daughter of Jane and Ed Link of Upper Marlboro, MD.

Melissa is a 1998 graduate of Frederick Douglas High School in Upper Marlboro, MD, and graduated from East Carolina University. She is the granddaughter of the late Frank and Dortha Link of West Mifflin,PA, and Mary Elizabeth and the late James P. Farrell of Brooklyn, NY.

She is a freelance arts and lifestyle writer and also employed in the Philosophy Department of the University of Georgia as managing editor of the journal Ethics and the Environment.

Mr. Clark is a 1995 graduate of Bainbridge High School and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in English. He is the son of the late Charles Everett Clark Sr. and the grandson of the late Charles and Mary Clark of Boston, MS and the late E.K. and Nelle Kinney of Colquitt. He is employed with DialAmerica Marketing as manager and trainer.

The couple plan a lakeside ceremony on July 5, 2008, in Oconee Forest Park. The ceremony will be officiated by Musocgee Creek spiritual leader John Winterhawk and his wife, Ann Marie. A garden reception will immediately follow in the historic Boulevard neighborhood in Athens.

After a wedding trip to Nova Scotia, Canada, the couple will reside in Athens.
