Howdy, FFA member! Hope everyone has had a great holiday break these past few weeks. We are selling beef sticks again for $1.00. We have many different flavors which are Sweet BBQ, Country Delight, Pepperoni, Hot Cajun, Sweet Maple Bacon, Old # 9, Volcano, Sweet Annie Brown, Hickory Beef Jerky, and Teriyaki Beef Jerky. Come by the Ag officeand support your local FFA. The FFA will have a busy second part of the year. We will have a variety of livestock shows, many competitions and our local banquet.

Many of our hog show exhibitors have competed in jackpot shows over Christmas break. Brooke Widner competed at the FRM Deep South Swine Shootout on Saturday, December 29. We also had a previous FFA member, Zack Griffin compete in this hog show. This past weekend many FFA members competed in the Winter Pig Classic in Perry, Georgia. The exhibitors were Eddie Moore, Jenna Phillips, Nikki Griffin, and Brooke Widner. Zack Griffin and Jonathon Widner competed in this show. These are previous Miller County FFA members, and we would like to congratulate them as well as everyone else that competed in the hog shows these past few weeks.

This week's member of the week is Jenna Phillips. Jenna is the daughter of Tim and Tiffany Phillips and a freshman FFA member. She has been a member of the FFA for four years and has competed in many hog shows. She also plans to compete in forestry competition this March. Jenna has currently had Mr. Bill's horticulture, animal science, and forestry class. Our next meeting will be January 14, 2008. Have a great week back at school!
