Cobb, Durel to speak vows
Anthony Richard Durel and Anne Elizabeth Cobb Mr. James William Cobb of Colquitt and Ms. DaAnne Blanchard Watson of Gainesville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Anne Elizabeth, to Anthony Richard Durel, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Louis Durel of Auburn, California.
The wedding is planned for February 16, 2008, at the First United Methodist Chapel in Gainesville with a reception to follow at Rudolph's.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Alva Drane ("Miss Daisy") Watson of Gainesville and the late Mr. Alva Drane ("Coach") Watson Jr. of Gainesville and late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Cobb of Colquitt.
She is a 1990 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She received a bachelor of arts in journalism from the University of Georgia and a master's of science in journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She is employed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as an entertainment journalist.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Jack Durel of Newcastle, California, and the late Mr. Jack Durel of Newcastle, California, the late Mrs. Theresa May of Auburn, California, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Farmer of Galax, Virginia.
He is a 1988 graduate of North Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Illinois, and served seven years in the United States Army rising to the rank of captain. He received a bachelor of science in environmental health from the University of Georgia and is employed by GE Consumer Finance as a strategic project leader in Stavanger, Norway.
After the wedding, the couple will reside in Stavanger, Norway.
