CPD promotes officers
Chief Investigator Ric Morgan Chief of Police Scott Worsley recently announced the Colquitt Police Department promotions. The promotions were effective December 27, 2007.
Lonnie Wade was promoted to Sergeant. Sgt. Wade has been with the Colquitt Police Department the last four years. He served as corporal for approximately one and one half years prior to being promoted to sergeant. He has served all his duty as an officerwith the Colquitt Police Department.
Kenneth Kirkland was promoted to detective. Kirkland has been in law enforcement since January 1989. He has been with the Colquitt Police Department for the past six years. Prior to being promoted to detective, he was the sergeant on patrol.
Richard Morgan was promoted to chief investigator. Ric has been employed with the city for the past 10 years. He started as patrolman, along with also being the K-9 officerwhere he served for six years. He began working with investigations in 2004 where he has served since.
"All three employees deserve these promotions and do a finejob in protecting the citizens of Colquitt," stated Chief Worsley. "It was an honor for me to promote these three men," he continued.
Detective Ken Kirkland Wade, Kirkland and Morgan stated they were honored to serve this community.
