MCAE Achievement Recognized

The second quarter of the 2007-2008 term for students at Miller County Adult Education ended on December 12, 2007. During this quarter, Kenny Brown completed the requirements for receiving a GED diploma. Students who receive a GED diploma also receive a tuition voucher for $500 payable to any Georgia college. Students who complete requirements for GED diplomas are also eligible to participate in the GED graduation held annually in July.

Dontravious Burney, Adrian Mason, Amanda Padilla, Jmarcus Roseborough, Colby Smith, Kory Toliver, and Marvin Tye were level completers for second quarter. A certificate,a dictionary and a coupon from Hardee's were presented to each student as awards for their success. Level completions are goals students must achieve as they prepare for the GED test and their ultimate goal of receiving a GED Diploma.

In addition to successfully completing levels, students must also meet attendance requirements. Carlos Felix, Clinton Grant, Rosie Riggins, and Quentin Williams were each presented a certificateand a Subway coupon for meeting attendance goals.

The Miller County Adult Learning Center is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings from 8:00-12:00 and is located downstairs in the Miller County Arts Council Building. The program is individualized to meet the needs of students. Students must attend a minimum of six hours per week. For further information, please call Becky Braswell at 758-4157.
