MCHS Miss Campus Beauty crowned
This year's theme for the pageant was "Falling for Miss Campus Beauty." Nine girls who represented grades 6-12 competed for the titles of Junior Miss Campus Beauty, Teen Miss Campus, Senior Miss Campus Beauty, and Miss Campus Beauty. The mistress of ceremonies was the reigning Miss Campus Beauty, Laci Phillips. Laci also serves as vice-president of the Junior Class. The Junior Miss contestants opened with a number to "Watermelon Crawl" where they performed a dance and then introduced themselves to the audience. The new Junior Miss Campus Beauty title went to Alea Worsley. She is the 14-year-old daughter of Shannon Kinney and the late Todd Worsley. She is the niece of Eddie and Christy Whitaker. Katie Cofty was crowned People's Choice. She is the 12-yearold daughter of Patrick and Lyn Cofty. Other contestants were Nicolette Holt and Sara Briones. The Teen and Miss Contestants then entertained the audience dancing to "Watermelon Crawl" and introduced themselves. The new Teen Miss Campus Beauty crowned was Mary Katherine Spooner. Mary Katherine is the 15-year-old daughter of Andy and Lisa Spooner. Taking the title of Senior Miss Campus Beauty was Danielle Durham, daughter of Danny and Veronica Durham. The 2007-2008 Miss Campus Beauty is Courtney Brownlee. She is the daughter of Ron Brownlee and Mark and Deborah Pearce. Other contestants were Tanelia Douglas and Cecilia Roland. Junior class members Tyler Cox, Ben Posey, and Tony Grier escorted the contestants onto the stage. Ashton Mock, the reigning Junior Miss Campus Beauty, and the members of the Junior Class entertained. These members were Chris Williams, Janay Ancheta, Jordie King, Jordan Kirkland, Syltoya Bush, Nikki Griffin, Patrick Haverty, and Dontavious Hodge. The Miss Campus Beauty pageant is a fundraiser for the Junior Senior prom. |
