Funny money showing up in Colquitt

Counterfiet bills showing up at businesses and institutions.

It's not funny money if you happen to have one of these bills and they turn out to be counterfeit. They are taken into custody by officersand reported to state or federal enforcement officials.

According to the law enforcement agencies, businesses have been receiving counterfeit bills, primarily $100.00 bills. The bills are high quality fakes and difficultto detect according to officers.

The Colquitt Police Department is currently investigating the appearance of the counterfeit bills that several businesses have received in the past few days.

Businesses have detection pens, but the counterfeit pens have sold out. More pens will be available at officesupply business' by the time this edition is out.

Any contact with any suspected counterfeit bills should be reported to the Colquitt Police Department.
