Queens for Kids toy drive
by MCL staffwriter
The reigning Miss Colquitt queens and the National Mayhaw Festival queens held a "Queens for Kids" toy and can food drive Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Colquitt United Methodist Church.

Other local and area queens were also invited to help and participate in the drive.

As we approached the holiday season, several of the queens decided they wanted to do something to help children who were not as fortunate as they. They thought about it and come up with the idea of "Queens for Kids."

Tiny Miss Mayhaw, Mackenzie Pickle said, "I wanted all little girls to feel like a queen."

With the help of the reigning queens parents, the toy and can food drive was a huge success.

The queens would like to thank everyone who participated in this special drive and hopes it will become an annual event of the reigning queens.

And because of their generosity, Christmas was made brighter for some of the not so fortunate in our town.
