Seminole Ramlins
by Jack Wingate
The speckled perch have gone crazy this past week. Carl Keim of Bass Island Campground here at Wingate's caught 263 this past week alone on Jigs in deep water. He said it was the best fishin' he's ever had. Amos Frazier and Don Logsdon brought them in by the boatload, too. Cliff Straughn of Chattahoochee, FL, caught lots of perch on minnows, along with Russ Rodgers, Eddie Ditto and Kelly Brown.
We can't complain about the ducks either. Ron Goldsmith of Lake Oconee, GA, and Mike Harmon of Douglasville, GA, brought in 10 Ringnecks. Chris Jannakas and Keith Davis of Grey, GA, brought in a bunch of Ringnecks and Bluebills. Bill Estes and Steve White of Duluth, GA brought in several different breeds with help from good ole Jake the Wonder Dog.
The Buckmaster's Disabled Hunt was held down across the state line. Ray Krolokowski killed a nine point buck using only his mouth. It's pretty neat how they set those guys up to hunt. It takes a lot of volunteers and man hours. Russell Smith and Mike Laird are the two that put it on, and it takes them a whole year to get ready for the next one.

The Hydrilla Gnats came in second in the Georgia Bass Club World Team Championship on Lake Russell this weekend. Mike Prindle, Andy Koundourakis, Mike Sloan, Paul Tyre, Sean Neel and Billy "Gizmo" Roton made up the team, "The Swarm". Congratulations, boys, you made us proud.
