James Robert (Bob) Smith Mr. James Robert Smith, age 79, of Pell City and formerly of Colquitt, passed away Friday, December 7, 2007. Graveside services were held Monday, December 10, at Branchville Presbyterian Church. Mr. Smith was a retired lawyer and Air Force Reserve colonel. His legal career encompassed private practice, Air Force Reserve and TAC JAG duty as well as Pataula Circuit, Georgia, assistant DA. He also served as doorkeeper of the Georgia General Assembly. He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Hurst); his children, Cynthia and Dixon and their mother, Rita; special in-laws, Jean and Clayton Browning; a brother, Julian; nephew Sid Smith and many other nieces and nephews; a great friend, Jocko of Leeds, England; special relatives, Ada, Garret, Wig and Margaret Geer and Carol and Melanie Freitas; Candy and Cookie, much loved Jack Russel terriers extraordinaires; and his Cropwell Baptist Church exercise group. Donations in his memory may be made to the Animal Shelter of Pell City. Kilgore Funeral Home in Leeds, AL, was in charge of the arrangements. |
