A large group of family, friends, businesses and financial institutions were on hand Thursday, December 13, 2007, to welcome Daryl's Place to Colquitt and Miller County.
Veryl Garland Cockey, president of the chamber of commerce, thanked everyone for coming out to support Daryl and thanked him for purchasing the business and wished him well in his new endeavor.
Barbie Womble, chairman of the Miller County Board of Commissioners, also extended appreciation and offered the county's support in any way.
Jerry Chapman, mayor, and Cory Thomas, city manager, also expressed their thanks to Daryl.
Even though the business is not new to our area, it has a new owner and a new look.
Daryl Miller recently purchased the former American Pie restaurant from Jerry Snipes. However, Daryl is no stranger to Colquitt. He grew up here and has been in the retail business before when he and his dad, the late Lamar "Bo" Miller, owned and operated Bo's Greenhouse and Nursery.
Daryl's Place, located on the square at 160 South First Street, offers a wide variety of foods. To start off, appetizers that will please your taste include wings, loaded potato skins, cheese sticks, and Jalapeno poppers, just to name a few. You will also be able to enjoy your favorite quesadillas in beef, chicken or steak with all the toppings.
If subs, wedges, or wraps is your thing, Daryl's place has the best. He offers whole or 1/2 subs or wedges in a variety of meats, and you can get your wrap cold or hot.
Daryl also offers a variety of salads, pasta and stromboli along with any pizza with toppings of your choice in all sizes.
Daryl's Place is decorated
season... with black and white check tablecloths with red chairs. On the walls you will findseveral paintings which his sister, Marcia Miller, has painted. Some of her prints are also available for sale in the restaurant.
A 50" plasma TV, along with fiveothers, can be found in the upscale, cozy sports bar adjacent
to the restaurant. You can enjoy your favorite football game or any pay per view while you dine.
Daryl's Place hours are Monday, closed; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
