Law Enforcement Reports Theft By Taking On December 6, 2007 OfficerMary Price was dispatched to Henry Miller Road in reference to a stolen four wheeler. Upon arrival, OfficerPrice spoke with Richard Peterson, who stated that someone stole his 2003 Honda Rancher 350. Mr. Peterson further described the four wheeler as being green and black with a rack on the front and back. He also stated that the four wheeler had a deer stand holder on the back and a master lock winch on the front. On December 4, 2007, OfficerBrad Cox was dispatched to Cooktown Road in reference to a stolen motorcycle. Upon arrival, OfficerCox made contact with Glenda Fulford who stated that her son's motorcycle had been stolen. Mrs. Fulford stated that she last saw the motorcycle parked in the front of her shed earlier that morning. She stated that she observed the motorcycle missing when she returned home around 6:00 p.m. Mrs. Fulford described the motorcycle as being a black and silver Honda sports bike. A bolo was put out on the stolen motorcycle. The case has been turned over to investigations at this time. Accident On December 5, 2007, Kelly Jacobs was backing up on to Bush Street in a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche that belonged to Rusty Dewayne Darley of Colquitt. Ms. Jacobs backed into a 1993 Ford Explorer that belonged to Rocky Carr of Colquitt that was parked. Ms. Jacobs was found to be at fault for improper backing. OfficerChris Medina was the reporting officer. On December 9, 2007 Phillip Michael Thomas of Bainbridge was traveling southbound on Hwy. 27 South at which time he fell asleep and began to run off the road. Mr. Thomas then attempted to get back into the traffic lane and over-corrected. He then overcorrected again, causing his vehicle to spin counter-clockwise and leave the roadway on the southbound shoulder. The vehicle overturned in the ditch at least twice and came to rest in an upright position facing the roadway. OfficerBrad Cox was the reporting officer. On December 7, 2007, Linda S. Thornton contacted the sheriff's officeand stated that she had struck a deer with her vehicle. Ms. Thornton stated that she was traveling southbound on Hwy. 27N. near Griggs Lucille Road when a deer ran out in front of her vehicle. Ms. Thornton stated that she struck the deer which caused damage to the front bumper area of her vehicle. Disturbance On December 4, 2007, Officer Kenneth Kirkland and Chief Scott Worsley were dispatched to the Bush Street Apartments in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the officerswere advised that the subject, Larry Walker, was cursing other tenants. OfficerKirkland then spoke to one of the tenants, Marion Whitaker, who stated Walker cursed him for not letting him use the phone. Chief Worsley and OfficerKirkland then spoke to Mr. Walker about the incident at which time he was advised to calm down and quit causing a disturbance. OfficerKirkland then spoke to the maintenance personnel at which time he stated that Mr. Walker had also cursed him for not letting him use the phone. On December 3, 2007 OfficerLonnie Wade was dispatched to Dancer Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, OfficerWade spoke to Monisha Peterson, who stated her ex-boyfriend damaged some clothing and furniture items. Ms. Peterson then gave a written statement about the incident. Ms. Peterson stated she did not wish to filecharges on the possible suspect. Ms. Petterson was advised that if she has anymore trouble to contact the police department. Dog Bite On December 3, 2007 OfficerKenneth Kirkland responded to the Miller County E.R. in reference to a dog bite. Upon arrival, OfficerKirkland made contact with Willie Charles Ross III who stated that while he was entering the Road Runner Seafood Market, a black and white dog jumped up and bit him. When asked to view the injuries, Mr. Ross pulled up his right pants leg at which time OfficerKirkland observed minor abrasions to the top of the knee which appeared to be from a dog bite. OfficerKirkland advised Mr. Ross that a report would be filed on the incident and the dog owner would be contacted. After talking to Mr. Ross, OfficerKirkland went to Road Runner Seafood and spoke to the dog's owner, Mrs. Amy Stovall, who stated that she was familiar with the dog bite and that she didn't know why the incident happened. OfficerKirkland advised Mrs. Stovall that a report of the incident would be filed and for her to secure the dog for security reasons. OfficerKirkland then asked about the animal's shots at which time she stated the dog was up to date on all the shots. |
