Free workshop to be offered at BC

Bainbridge College (BC) freshmen in the Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) program will present a free smoking cessation workshop 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 19 in the Main Campus Student Center. ADN student Lauren Hagins of Colquitt chairs the project.

Most of the 40 members of the new class, which is to graduate in 2009, are working on this community outreach project, she said, noting that it is the first such community health project for the ADN program which graduated its first class in August.

The workshop will offer realistic ways to stop smoking, she said. These include providing worksheets to identify the kind of smoker a person is and a calendar to track smoking.
