Ebony Dots & Dashes
by Katie Smith

Mr. Clint Morrell injured his leg this weekend. He seldom takes time for himself. He is always out and about doing for others. I hope he will soon be back to his usual jovial self.

Mrs. Waver Fountain is not feeling too good today. She has to go to the doctor for her aches. I Hope she feels better.

Mrs. Annie P. Johnson was surprised last week. Her daughter, Mrs. Bettye White, came home to spend some time with her. Thank God for daughters who care.

I had a call from several friends over the weekend. It helps to hear from friends afar, heard from Mrs. Annie Kate Woodall. She was doing good.

Mrs. Clara Toliver is not feeling too good these days. She says her knees don't want to act right. Mr. "Arthur" and Mr. "Ritis" are not good friends to have around. They try to stop the moving process.

Well, the news takes a new step this week. I was lucky! I went to church over the weekend. I got up early and prepared myself to make the trip. My good friend, Mrs. Margaret Grant, picked me up. I truly enjoyed the service. I will try to keep it up. I did not realize the impact a heart attack could have upon a body. But since it is the major carrier of blood, boy, it is really a big part of our bodies.

Rev. Mae Jamison of Donalsonville preached. She is a dynamic speaker, filled with the Holy Ghost, and full of power. I was at Family and Friends Day at Beulah A.M.E. Church. The Cypress Pond F.W.B. Choir came and did the singing. They are great.

Mrs. Gladys Moore and Rev. L.C. Moore attended services in Ellaville last Sunday. Mrs. Moore was the speaker at the laity meeting.

Birthdays for the end of October and November are Willie Butler, October 29; Sherita Johnson, Nov. 2; Mary Ann Perkins, Nov. 2; and Moniqua Shae Jones, Nov. 15.
