STEVEN C. KING Mr. Steven C. King, age 85, of Bainbridge, died Friday, October 26, 2007. Memorial services were held Sunday, October 28, at 4:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Webb officiating. Mr. King was born in Lebanon, NH, the son of the late Clarence and Flora Rogers King. He had been living in Decatur County for the last five years. He lived in Gaithersburg, MD, and then in Wesley Chapel, FL. Mr. King was a WW II Veteran in the Air Force, a retired major and was a pilot. He was an administrative director with the USDA, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bainbridge, a member of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Executives), a member of the National Association of Realtors, the CBI Veterans Organization and earned his doctorate degree in animal husbandry. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Powell King of Bainbridge; a son Gordon S. King of Darnestown, MD; a daughter, Nancy E. Petersen of Bethesda, MD; one grandson, Jimmy Petersen; two sisters, Flora Kenyon of NH and Doris Holbrooke of FL; two brothers, Walter and Warren King, both of FL; four stepchildren, Stephen Powell, David Powell and Debra Wilson of Atlanta, and Lauren Rentz of Bainbridge. Mr. King is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. |
