Newest deputy in Miller County

Deputy Mary Price

The Miller County Sheriff's Department has a new deputy sheriff.

Mary Pricecame to Colquitt, her hometown, in February from the Calhoun State Prison, where she had worked for the past six years.

When first arriving in Colquitt, she served as a detention officer. After a year of this service, Price stated, "I decided to go on the road to protect and serve our community.

She graduated from the Georgia Police Academy as an honor graduate in September 2007.

Price is married to Earnest Price, and they have two children, Makel, 14, and Nicholas, 13.

She stated, "I give my thanks to my God as well as the Miller County Sheriff's Department for giving me this opportunity."
